EXCITING NEWS FOR MIDDLESBROUGH WITH MONKEYSHINE COMEDY FESTIVAL
Monkeyshine Comedy festival, a 2 day comedy festival coming to Stewart Park, Middlesbrough in 2016! Keep your eye on our page over the next few weeks as we have been given the opportunity to give YOU at Middlesbrough Events tickets to this amazing gig! Its an fantastic prize and we may even bring you a bit of magic from one of the acts with a personal interview with ourselves which is just TOO EXCITING!!
On 16th & 17th July the Monkeyshine Comedy festival are taking over a chunk of Stewart Park and putting in a big tent, a bar, some decent grub and a caravan*. They are having a stellar line up of comedians and over the 2 (full) days there will be over 30 acts appearing. You can stay all day or choose to come and go as you please.
Five TV names have been added to the bill of Teesside’s biggest ever comedy event. Monkeyshine, taking place this summer in Stewart Park, will see Jason Manford, Chris Ramsey, Stewart Francis, Tom Stade and Seann Walsh visit the town over two days.
Monkeyshine Festival Organiser Peter Vincent said: “People will know all of these acts from the television, or their own tour shows where their fans come out to see them, yet we’ve managed to convince them all to come here as part of one big line up. It’s incredible and every single one of them has jumped at the chance. It’s going to be amazing”
Chris Ramsey, a regular panellist on Celebrity Juice, with TV credits including the Royal Variety Performance and Live At The Apollo, will headline on Sunday. He said: “Stockton Riverside was one of the first festivals I played when I was starting out, so when the same organisers asked if I fancied playing Middlesbrough I was honoured. I can’t wait to come and play it!”
Jason Manford will headline on Saturday night and is similarly excited. He added: “It’s been nearly two years since I last visited Middlesbrough so this will be a rare chance for people to catch me. I’m really looking forward to it – it’s always a favourite night during my tours, so this should be proper special.”
Also joining Chris and Jason will be Canadian pun king Stewart Francis. He’s the rip-roaringly funny gag merchant who has featured on pretty much every stand up television show in the country, including Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. He’ll perform on Saturday at the event in Middlesbrough’s historic Stewart Park.
And as if that wasn’t enough, festival organisers are offering fans a limited number of early bird tickets for those keen to guarantee a place. Peter Vincent added: “We’ve worked so hard to get some of the best comedians in the country to play here. Anyone getting an early bird ticket will basically be paying £2.90 per comedian – there’s no way you could watch Jason Manford or Stewart Francis or any of the acts we’ve got coming here for that price anywhere else.”
Tom Stade and Seann Walsh, both familiar faces to TV viewers, will also visit on Saturday and Sun day respectively. With a clutch of TV credits between them that include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Stand Up For The Week, Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week, the pair will guarantee belly laughs throughout both days.
Tickets for the event, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July, are on sale now at www.monkeyshinefestival.co.uk with limited weekend tickets also providing further savings.
